Missoula Costco Expands, The Hip Strip Gets a New Kind of Sunday School and Big Changes on Brooks Street.
Hey, What’s That Missoula? The former Clyde Coffee location is now occupied, the planning pipeline is making headway, and lots of dirt is moving at the old Summit Beverage site.
When Clyde Coffee moved down the block to their location across from Bitterroot Flower Shop, I think we were all wondering what would fill their highly visible location on the Hip Strip. And now we know, it’s Sunday School – but not the version you might be thinking of. Sunday School is a sneaker boutique, though I also saw some apparel items in the shop recently. Definitely worth checking out.
To shift to a more industrial site, Claire, do we know what’s happening with all the deconstruction of the old Summit Beverage site adjacent to the Missoula Costco?
While we haven’t seen renderings, Costco does plan on expanding into the 4-acre former Summit Beverage site next door.
Anyone who has ever been to Costco on a Saturday morning can attest that more parking would be a godsend – as would an access point from West Broadway, although we don’t know for sure if that’s in the cards. Our team will keep tracking this development, so like and follow us for updates.
Over on Brooks Street…
Over on another major corridor in town, the space at 3100 Brooks Street has lots going on. From a facade remodel to landscaping and a new entryway, it looks like an orthodontics practice has big plans for the spot.
Finally, there are a number of commercial projects making their way from planning stages into permitting – basically taking the step from an idea into a reality. The good news is that this includes quite a few housing units, as well as more self-storage and office options.
We’re definitely seeing an uptick in interest for office space, which is likely due to COVID-related restrictions relaxing and folks getting back to the office.
Thanks for watching Hey, What’s That Missoula? We’ll be back soon with another update on all the dirt moving around Missoula.
